Westside
Jacksonville’s Westside encompasses an expansive area of Jacksonville. The Westside starts just north of I-10 and stretches down to I-295 before the Buckman Bridge and the western side of the Westside is bordered by Clay County and the east is bordered by the St. Johns River. Incorporated into the Westside are four additional towns within Duval County, Baldwin, Marietta, Maxville, and Whitehouse. The Westside is home to several well-known residential areas including Ortega, Argyle, Avondale, Riverside, Murray Hill, and Normandy. Also on the Westside of Jacksonville is the Naval Air Station (NAS), Cecil Field, and Herlong Airport, a small public airport. Due to the Westside location being away from the beach and the area being less developed with popular shopping and dining destinations, homes in this area are typically less expensive compared to other areas of Jacksonville. |
